TAFE announces free tractor rental scheme for small and marginal farmers of Tamil Nadu
TAFE (Tractors and Farm Machines Restricted) on Saturday declared a free of charge tractor rental scheme to support compact farmers of Tamil Nadu for the duration of this critical cropping period amid the next wave of Covid in the nation.
In a push launch, the Amalgamations Team business explained, the free of charge tractor rental scheme is in addition to its before contribution of oxygen concentrators, procurement of oxygen cylinders and support to the prepared mass immunisation system. The total outlay toward all of TAFE’s contributions to COVID reduction is Rs.15 crore.
“With the encouragement and support of the Tamil Nadu Govt, TAFE is pleased to supply free of charge-of-expense rental expert services to the compact and marginal farmers of Tamil Nadu. TAFE will supply its Massey Ferguson and Eicher tractors together with farm implements to support the compact and marginal farmers by way of this critical time and very important cropping period,” Mallika Srinivasan, Chairman and Running Director, TAFE was quoted in the assertion.
The free of charge tractor rental scheme would include about 1,20,000 acres and will benefit all around fifty,000 farmers. It will be offered from May well 2021 by way of July 2021 across Tamil Nadu. TAFE will supply its sixteen,500 Massey Ferguson and Eicher tractors and 26,800 implements on a “free-of-cost” rental basis to compact farmers owning 2 acres or much less.
Farmers can lease or seek the services of tractors or farm implements using TAFE’s digital system on the TN Govt’s Uzhavan app or the toll-free of charge helpline 1800-4200-100. The scheme will be applied with the support of the Agriculture Division of Tamil Nadu and their district officers, the business included.
