Carnival starts cancelling next year’s cruises

The world’s greatest cruise company has started cancelling up coming year’s trips in a new blow to an sector devastated by the coronavirus pandemic.

Previous FTSE 100 cruise operator Carnival blamed border limitations and the “continued uncertainty of airline travel” for axing Princess Cruises sailings in early 2021.

Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises president, mentioned: “We share in the disappointment of this cancellation for attendees of our earth cruises.”

The cancellations comply with an announcement by Cunard, also owned by Carnival, that expert services will be suspended until March up coming calendar year.

All sailings have been cancelled for Queen Elizabeth until Mar twenty five,  Queen Mary two until Apr 18, and Queen Victoria until Might 16, Cunard mentioned.

Shares in Carnival, also listed on the New York inventory trade, have plunged about fears that the Miami-headquartered company faces a lengthy road to restoration in the wake of the pandemic.
