Black British Business Awards announce 2021 finalists

Finalists have been exposed for this year’s Black British Business enterprise Awards, an yearly event that celebrates the achievements of some of the UK’s prime corporate bosses and business people.

Now in its eighth calendar year, the awards spotlight “exceptional enterprise talent” throughout six industries: arts and media consumer and luxury start off-ups economic products and services professional products and services and STEM (science, tech, engineering and maths).

Amid the 39 businesspeople shortlisted are Taponeswa Mavunga, director of Africa at Sony Music British isles, Akima Paul-Lambert, litigation partner at Hogan Lovells, and Edgar Chibaka and Jamal Tahlil, co-founders of Leeds-centered safety business 1st Response Group.

Sophie Chandauka, co-founder and chair of the awards, claimed: “Our finalists have shipped remarkable professional value throughout sectors in volatile marketplaces, where by business people in individual have been decimated.

“They have been strategic advisors to their businesses and boards as world businesses are challenged by buyers to deal with systemic racism.

“Despite the pandemic and social unrest, they are fiercely aggressive, artistic and commercially savvy. They are world in their outlook and ambition, and symbolize the really greatest of staying British in a write-up-pandemic, write-up-Brexit Europe.”

Segun Osuntokun of legislation business Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner was named black British businessperson of 2020 at previous year’s ceremony.
