Deloitte faces new probe into audits

The FCA dropped its investigation into Lookers very last month, stating it had “concerns” around the “historic lifestyle, devices and control” but did not censure the organization.

This is not the first time Deloitte has run into difficulties around its auditing. Earlier this month the accountancy big struck an $80m (£57m) settlement with Malaysia around its position as an auditor to 1MDB, the state investment decision fund embroiled in a multi-billion-dollar embezzlement scandal.
Past November, Deloitte was fined around failures in its audit perform for Johnston Push and was ordered to pay a file £15m soon after failing to act with “integrity and objectivity” around its audits of previous FTSE 100 technological know-how team Autonomy.
