Turmeric sale drops, only 60% sold

About only sixty for every cent of the arrived turmeric was sold on Thursday.

R.K.V. Ravishankar, President, Erode Turmeric Retailers Affiliation claimed: “The sale of turmeric has been reduced to sixty for every cent as only medium quality turmeric is arriving for sale. Further more, the traders have only area demand from customers, and are ready for the upcountry demand from customers. Some bags of finger turmeric fetched a little bit improved cost of ₹75 to ₹100 a quintal owing to great quality among the medium selection. The traders obtained all these kinds of turmeric for their area demand from customers.”

He claimed the arrival of turmeric for sale was at two,five hundred to three,000 bags a day, as most of the farmers had been chaotic in their agricultural operations in Kalingarayan ayacut place owing to launch of water in the canal. There is no enhancement in cost at the Turmeric Futures and also no new upcountry demand from customers has been received by traders.

At the Erode Turmeric Retailers Affiliation revenue garden, finger turmeric was sold at ₹5,299 to ₹6,459 a quintal, the root selection was sold at ₹4,889 to ₹5,689 a quintal. Of the arrival of 1,495 bags of turmeric about 419 bags had been sold.

At the Controlled Advertising Committee, finger turmeric was sold at ₹4,810 to ₹6,042 a quintal, root selection at ₹4,610 to ₹5,519 a quintal. Of the 582 bags of turmeric put for sale, 558 bags had been sold.

At the Erode Cooperative Advertising Culture, finger turmeric was sold at ₹5,011 to ₹6,399 a quintal, the root selection at ₹4,899 to ₹5,659 a quintal. Of the 858 bags of turmeric retained for sale, 751 bags had been sold.
